Privacy Policy ============== Effective May 29, 2026 · operated by Jakob Näher We never sell your data or use it for cross-app tracking. Pulse is a map-first nightlife and social discovery app for adults 18 and older. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Pulse you agree to this policy. 1. Who we are ------------- Pulse is operated by Jakob Näher ("we", "us"), the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact jago.naeher@gmail.com. 2. Information we collect ------------------------- Information you provide - Account — your phone number (if you sign in by SMS) or the identifier Apple provides (if you use Sign in with Apple — including your real email address or Apple's private relay email), your display name and username, and an optional bio. - Content you create — posts (text and photos), comments, per-venue chat messages, direct messages, anonymous venue ratings, real-time crowd reports displayed without profile attribution (sentiment, tags, and an optional note), and the venues you save. Information collected automatically - Location — with your permission, your device location is used to center the map on nearby venues and to confirm you are physically at a venue before you rate it or submit a crowd report. If you opt in to presence sharing, the venue you are checked into (never your exact coordinates) can be shown to your followers or mutual follows. Location is requested While Using the App only. - Usage — basic product-interaction events (screens viewed, features used) to operate features like "trending" and "heating up", and to understand and improve the app. 3. How we use information ------------------------- - To provide the core map, ratings, posts, presence, events, and messaging features. - To verify you are at a venue when you rate it (anti-abuse / data quality). - To keep Pulse safe — moderation, responding to reports, and enforcing our Terms. - To analyze and improve the product. We aggregate and de-identify data for any internal analytics. 4. Anonymous ratings and crowd reports -------------------------------------- Venue ratings are aggregate and anonymous — they describe a venue's crowd at a moment in time, never an identifiable person, and are only shown once a minimum number of reports exist. Crowd reports may include short notes and are displayed without profile attribution. We keep a private, internal record of which account submitted a rating or crowd report solely to prevent abuse, duplicate voting, and respond to safety reports; it is never shown to other users. 5. How we share information --------------------------- We do not sell your personal data and do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We share information only with: - Service providers that run the app on our behalf — Supabase (database, storage, authentication, hosting), Twilio (SMS verification), Apple (Sign in with Apple), OpenAI (automated safety moderation of user content, when that screening is enabled), and Google/Apple maps & places (venue data and the map). They process data only to provide their service to us. - Other users, for the parts of your profile and content you choose to make public (your posts, profile, and — only if you opt in — your venue-level presence). - Legal — if required by law or to protect rights and safety. Ticket links open the venue's own provider (e.g. Dice, Resy, Eventbrite) in your browser; any purchase happens on their site under their privacy policy. Pulse processes no payments. 6. Retention ------------ We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we permanently delete your profile, posts, comments, ratings, follows, saved venues, messages, and uploaded media. Aggregated, de-identified data that cannot be linked to you may be retained. We may also retain safety-report records needed to investigate abuse, with personal account snapshots redacted when an account is deleted. 7. Your choices and rights -------------------------- - Location — control or revoke access anytime in iOS Settings. - Presence — off by default; change it in Settings → Privacy. - Delete your account — in-app, anytime, which erases your data as described above. - Access / correction / deletion — depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Email jago.naeher@gmail.com and we will honor applicable requests. 8. Children ----------- Pulse is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Pulse, contact jago.naeher@gmail.com and we will remove the account. 9. Security ----------- We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data. 10. International transfers --------------------------- Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. 11. Changes ----------- We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. 12. Contact ----------- Questions or requests: jago.naeher@gmail.com. Pulse is operated by Jakob Näher. Contact: jago.naeher@gmail.com. Effective May 29, 2026.
